The Silva Expedition Series is for experienced users and professionals. Silva Expedition is your best choice if you want a baseplate compass with many features such as slope card and a scale lanyard.

If you are in need of a traditional baseplate compass with high-end features, the Expedition should be your choice. Silva Expedition features easy-handling rubber housing, silicon rubber feet for precision map work, detachable safety-release distance lanyard, night-enabling luminous markings, magnifying lens, a clinometer for measuring slope angle, map-measuring scales in mm or inches and GPS scales 1:25,000, 1:40 000 and 1:50,000, plus built-in adjuster for magnetic declination (including permanent local adjustment).

SLOPE CARD
The slope card is great both for detecting avalanche risk and for determining how challenging your journey will be. By knowing the slope you can also judge any extra distance that you need to go due to the slope. Always take caution in steep terrain. The risk of avalanches increase if the slope is steeper than 30 degrees. The slope card will help you detect this risk.

SCALE LANYARD
This compass model is equipped with a detachable scale lanyard that works like a ruler. The scale lanyard has two scales on it; 1:25, and 1:50, which makes it easier to measure the distance of your hike. Since its soft and bendable it’s easy to place directly on to your route on the map when you are out in the terrain – or when you are planning for your next adventure.

Defective Items?

The definition of a defect is a material imperfection in the manufacture of a product or any characteristic of a product which renders it unfit for its intended use.
Our products are checked before leaving, however If you find a problem with your product, we need to know within 7 days of receiving the goods.
Depending on the availability of a substitute product we will either replace or credit you with a voucher for the value of the product.
Returns must include a reason for the return.

If a product is returned to us, other than for a defect, and has been disassembled or altered in any way, you will lose the right of return.
Products which are found to be unsuitable for a particular purpose may be returned within 10 days of delivery– a reasonable amount for necessary restoration costs to render the goods fit for restocking may be charged. All products are guaranteed for 12 months with the exception of eazyflasks and bladders which are guaranteed for 6 months

Should a product be damaged or missing any parts or accessories at the time of delivery / collection, please notify us within 7 days of such delivery / collection by emailing store@silvasweden.co.za.
We will arrange return delivery of the product. Once we have inspected the product and validated your return, we will replace the product as soon as possible (if we have the same product in stock to use as a replacement) or credit you with a voucher for the purchase price of the product.
